Job summary

Van der Meer Consulting, based in Sydney, is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead design and delivery of complex projects. You will guide concepts through to completion, ensure compliance with codes, and coordinate with clients, consultants and contractors.

The ideal candidate will have a structural or civil engineering degree with 7+ years of experience, including at least 3 years in Australia, and strong capability in steel and concrete design and BIM oversight.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
Minimum 7 years of experience in structural engineering, with 3+ years in Australia within a consultancy.
Proven experience in design of residential, commercial, retail and industrial projects.

Responsibilities

Execute structural designs including modelling, calculations, drawings, reports and presentations.
Ensure designs comply with codes, standards and project schedules.
Mentor junior engineers and BIM technicians.
Participate in meetings and resolve engineering challenges.
Conduct site inspections and coordinate with clients and contractors.
Support business development and client relationship activities.
