You may already have the Senior Structural Engineer title. The question is whether your current consultancy can genuinely offer you the next step.

An established Brisbane engineering consultancy is looking for a Senior Structural Engineer who can combine strong technical capability with project delivery, team leadership and excellent client and site communication.

For the right person, there is a genuine opportunity to progress towards Associate within the next 12-18 months.

The project portfolio provides exposure to substantial and technically challenging structures, including:

• Major commercial buildings
• Potential Brisbane Olympic-related projects
• Medical and healthcare facilities
• Other significant building structures

You will take responsibility for projects and deliverables while helping manage and mentor a small structural team.

This will include:

• Leading structural design and project delivery
• Coordinating engineers and project workloads
• Managing deadlines and deliverables
• Attending site and resolving construction-related issues
• Liaising confidently with clients, architects and contractors
• Mentoring and developing less experienced engineers
• Taking increasing responsibility for client and project management

We are looking for someone who is technically strong but equally comfortable dealing with people.

You should be well organised, capable of managing competing project priorities and able to communicate confidently both internally and externally.

Strong ETABS capability is important, while experience with RAM and SpaceGass would be highly regarded.

This is particularly suited to an established Senior Structural Engineer who has already demonstrated some team leadership and is now looking for the additional responsibility and exposure required to make the move into Associate.
