An established engineering consultancy in Brisbane is looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join a strong structural team delivering some genuinely impressive projects across Queensland and nationally.

This is an opportunity to work on large, technically interesting structures rather than spending the next few years repeating the same type of project.

The project pipeline includes:

• Data centres and technically complex facilities
• Potential Brisbane 2032 Olympic-related projects
• Large industrial buildings and facilities
• Other significant multidisciplinary building projects

You’ll remain technically involved, but at Senior level you’ll also be expected to take greater ownership of projects and become an important link between the design team, clients and other consultants.

Your role will include leading structural design packages, coordinating engineers and designers, reviewing calculations and documentation, resolving complex structural issues and helping ensure projects are delivered to the technical standard, programme and quality expected.

Strong experience with ETABS would be particularly valuable, together with a solid understanding of reinforced concrete and structural steel design.

Just as importantly, we’re looking for someone who can communicate.

You should be comfortable discussing engineering solutions with architects, builders and clients, explaining technical issues clearly to younger engineers and producing well-written reports, correspondence and technical documentation.

At this level, being an excellent engineer is only part of the equation.

We want someone who can take responsibility, make decisions, mentor others and gradually become more involved in the client and leadership side of the business.

For the right Senior Engineer, there is genuine scope to continue progressing rather than finding yourself sitting at the same level for the next five years.
