Job summary

SafeSmart is seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to lead the technical design of engineered access, temporary works and edge protection solutions. You will take projects from concept through detailed design, verification, manufacture and delivery, spanning steel and aluminium structures and specialised docks and platforms.

You will work closely with Engineering, Projects, Sales and Manufacturing to deliver practical, safe and cost-effective solutions across construction,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with professional qualifications preferred (CPEng, NER, RPEQ or RPEV).
• 5+ years' structural engineering/design experience.
• Experience designing and analysing steel and aluminium structures.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Standards for structural steel and temporary works.
• Proficient in structural analysis, modelling and FEA software.
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D/3D and Autodesk Inventor; Revit or SolidWorks advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer temporary works, access and edge protection solutions.
• Design steel/aluminium scaffolding, platforms, stairs and walkways.
• Carry out structural calculations, modelling and FEA.
• Prepare 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using AutoCAD and Inventor.
• Review concepts and develop practical, compliant, manufacturable solutions.
• Assess existing designs for verification, compliance and safety.
• Provide engineering guidance across design, manufacturing and project delivery.
• Participate in design reviews and support complex project challenges.
