Job summary

Connexus in Sydney is seeking an experienced structural drafter to join a small, close-knit team. You will work with a respected drafting manager, taking responsibility across a diverse project list including high-rise, aged care, education, and commercial facilities.

You’ll model in Revit, convert client input into drawings with minimal markups, and progress to Lead Draftsperson on projects, validating your own work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years in structural drafting or equivalent level experience.
• Demonstrated ability to work without hand-holding in a small team.
• Ability to translate client input into build-ready drawings.

Responsibilities

• Model structural elements in Revit and produce drawings for construction.
• Turn engineer and client input into drawings with minimal rounds of markups.
• Step into Lead Draftsperson on projects and review your own work.

You'd be joining a small, close-knit structural drafting team in Sydney, working alongside a drafting manager who's genuinely respected and treats you like the experienced operator you are. No hand-holding, no second-guessing your calls, backs their team and expects them to run with it.

The project list is what makes this one worth the move. High-rise is the bread and butter, but you'll also work across aged care, health, residential, retail, sports facilities and student education and a new residential high-rise has just landed, giving you fresh scope from day one. At this level you've earned the right to variety, not one building type on repeat.

You'll model in Revit, turn engineer and client input into drawings that don't come back with three rounds of markups, and step into Lead Draftsperson on projects, checking your own work.

At 5 to 10+ years in structural drafting, you're not looking to be managed, you're looking for a team that trusts your judgement. Small team means everyone's work is visible, including yours getting noticed, not lost in a big firm's org chart.
