Job summary

Queensland Government is seeking a Senior Stores Supervisor to lead bulk store operations in a correctional environment. You will develop and implement stores policies, manage procurement, warehousing, stock control and related financial processes, and ensure WH&S compliance.

You will oversee staff performance, governance and risk management, and coordinate with the centre's multidisciplinary team to deliver cost-effective service and contract management.

Qualifications

• Experience in stores management, preferably in a correctional environment.
• Strong procurement, stock control and financial process experience.
• Ability to develop and implement governance and risk controls.
• Effective communication with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee stores management practices, policies and procedures for efficient operations.
• Manage performance appraisal and staff development in conjunction with centre managers.
• Oversee day-to-day Bulk Store activities: warehousing, procurement, stock control and financial processes.
• Maintain knowledge of centre and corporate software systems.
• Develop and maintain governance and risk management systems for bulk store service delivery.
• Coordinate with the centre's multidisciplinary team.
• Ensure Workplace Health & Safety compliance for bulk store functions.
• Manage day-to-day contracted services.

Job description

In this role you will be responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of all stores management practices, policies and procedures to ensure efficient and cost-effective operation of the stores function within a correctional environment.The primary accountabilities of the Senior Stores Supervisor include:- Manage the performance appraisal and development of staff in conjunction with other centre managers and develop and foster a working environment which is motivated, productive, and committed to service delivery as well as compliant with quality human resource management.- Manage the day-to-day activities of the Bulk Store including warehousing, procurement, stock control and financial processes.- Maintain high level knowledge of the centre and corporate software systems.- Develop and maintain governance and risk management systems to mitigate operational risks in bulk store service delivery.- Communication with the centre's multi-disciplinary team.- Ensure Workplace Health & Safety compliance for bulk store functions.- Day to day management of contracted services.Applications will remain current for 12 months.Joib Ad Reference: QLD/700663/26Closing Date: Thursday, 24 September 2026This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
