Job summary

GreenPoint Energy, an Australian renewable energy and battery storage platform, seeks a trading professional to manage real-time electricity market activities in the NEM from our Melbourne base. You will develop and back-test strategies, monitor market conditions, and collaborate with analytics and asset teams to refine models and execution.

The role emphasizes experience in energy markets, bidding systems, and openness to AI-driven approaches to improve trading outcomes across a growing asset

Qualifications

• At least two years in energy markets, covering electricity spot market trading, trading analytics, risk and market modelling.
• Direct exposure to BESS trading in the NEM.
• Bidding algorithm software, in-house or third party.
• Python or SQL (bonus but not a requirement).
• Willingness to use AI in day to day work.

Trade a growing portfolio of battery and wind assets in the NEM, backed by long-term institutional capital, from our purpose-built offices in Brighton, Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

• Real time market trading and market monitoring
