Job summary

Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) is seeking a Senior Speech Pathologist to join our Allied Health team in Adelaide. The role is part-time (30 hours per week) and pro rata with salary packaging and superannuation options.

You will lead speech pathology services for consumers with complex needs, focusing on dysphagia, cognition, and communication across acute, rehab and aged care settings. Eligibility for SPA membership and a background in multidisciplinary teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Broad clinical experience across acute, rehab, community or aged care.
• Expertise in dysphagia and cognitive communication assessment and care.
• Strong clinical judgement and evidence-based, consumer-centred practice.
• Proven teamwork, clear communication and sound clinical record keeping.
• Lead quality care, shape service delivery and help older people achieve better outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate speech pathology services for consumers with complex needs
• Assess and manage swallowing, communication and cognitive disorders
• Develop care plans that support recovery, function and safe discharge
• Partner with multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality, person-centred maintenance care
• Build strong links with community providers, aged care and follow-up services
• Shape models of care, patient pathways and service improvements
• Represent speech pathology on committees and support SA Health initiatives
