Job summary

Ability Action Australia is seeking a Senior Speech Pathologist to support participants across the Illawarra region, covering Nowra and North and South Wollongong. You’ll work in a supportive, collaborative environment to improve independence and communication for people with disability.

You will manage a diverse caseload in homes, schools and outreach settings, mentor graduates, and contribute to team development while enjoying flexible hours and meaningful professional growth.

Qualifications

• Current Speech Pathology Australia membership with SPA.
• Experience as a Speech Pathologist or Senior Speech Pathologist beyond graduation.
• Desire to mentor graduates and early career clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied, community-based caseload across homes, schools and outreach settings.
• Work with individuals across the lifespan, including early intervention, paediatrics, adolescents and adults.
• Support a range of needs such as feeding, early language, dysphagia, communication difficulties and AAC.
• Conduct observations and standardised assessments to develop meaningful, participant-centred goals.
• Deliver evidence-based therapy that builds communication, participation and independence.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to support participant outcomes.
• Caseload will be tailored to your experience, interests and professional goals.
• Support the growth and development of graduates and early career clinicians.
