Job summary

Ability Action Australia is seeking a Senior Speech Pathologist to support participants across the Illawarra region, including Nowra and Wollongong, with a mix of home and clinic work. You will manage a varied community-based caseload across homes, schools and outreach, work with individuals across the lifespan, and mentor graduates in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

• Must be a current member of Speech Pathology Australia (SPA).
• Experience as a Speech Pathologist or Senior Speech Pathologist beyond graduation.

• Thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to mentor graduates and early career clinicians.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied, community-based caseload across homes, schools and outreach settings.

• Support needs such as feeding, early language, dysphagia, and AAC.
• Conduct observations and standardised assessments to develop participant-centered goals.
• Deliver evidence-based therapy to build communication, participation and independence.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support outcomes.
• Caseload tailored to your experience and interests.
• Support the growth and development of graduates and early career clinicians.

Job Description

As our #AAA team continues to grow, we’re looking for a Senior Speech Pathologist to support participants across the Illawarra region, covering Nowra and North and South Wollongong, depending on where you’re based - work close to home!

As an experienced clinician, you’ll bring your expertise to a supportive and collaborative environment where you can make a meaningful impact in the lives of your participants, contribute to team development, and continue growing professionally.

Responsibilities will include:

• Manage a varied, community-based caseload across homes, schools and outreach settings
• Work with individuals across the lifespan, including early intervention, paediatrics, adolescents and adults
• Support a range of needs such as feeding, early language, dysphagia, communication difficulties and AAC
• Conduct observations and standardised assessments to develop meaningful, participant-centered goals
• Deliver evidence-based therapy that builds communication, participation and independence
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to support participant outcomes
• Caseload will be tailored to your experience, interests and professional goals
• Support the growth and development of graduates and early career clinicians.

Qualifications

• Current Speech Pathology Australia membership with SPA
• Experience as a Speech Pathologist or Senior Speech Pathologist beyond graduation
• Passionate about community-based support for people with disability
