Job summary

Datacom is seeking a Senior Solution Specialist to lead Microsoft 365 consulting engagements, delivering end-to-end solutions across SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform. You will co-design with customers, implement Copilot-ready workflows, and drive adoption through workshops and training.

You will advise on information governance, security, and AI-enabled productivity, collaborating with clients to realise tangible business outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a consultant in ICT professional services.
Extensive knowledge designing, building and deploying M365 Power Apps and Power Automate solutions.
Experience migrating content into Microsoft 365 from legacy platforms.
Strong facilitation and presentation skills, including designing and leading customer workshops.
Excellent written and verbal communication, able to convey complex info clearly.
Ability to translate business problems into practical M365 solutions.
Experience designing enterprise information architectures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Experience developing Power Automate workflows and Power Apps.
Knowledge of core M365 services: SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive.
Experience using Purview for information management and protection.
Advising customers on Copilot and adoption readiness.
Developing custom Copilot Studio agents.

Responsibilities

Lead with co-design principles to consult with customers and provide strategic recommendations.
Deliver high-quality presentations, product demos and workshops.
Capture requirements, produce solution designs and recommendation reports.
Provide technical leadership for Microsoft 365 environments and governance.
Build and deploy solutions on SharePoint Online, Teams, Power Automate and Power Apps.
Lead migration projects to SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Teams and Power Platform.
Advise on secure, responsible use of Copilot and AI to improve outcomes.
Assess readiness, architecture, permissions and governance for Copilot implementations.
Design, test and deploy custom Copilot Studio agents linking data and workflows.
Facilitate Copilot workshops and training to boost adoption and capability.
Offer guidance on document control and records management for compliance.
Develop training materials and coach customers; support presales with estimates.
Follow ITIL practices for change and release governance.

About The Role (your Why)

As a Senior Solution Specialist, you will be a key member of our Information Management and Productivity Solutions team working alongside customers to co-create solutions that transform and modernise the way they work. You will consult on, design, build, and support end to end Microsoft 365 solutions that strengthen collaboration, information management, and productivity, unlocking fresh possibilities for the future of work. You will also help customers realise the value of Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI by identifying practical use cases, advising on secure and effective adoption, and developing custom agents that improve productivity and simplify business processes. You will be accountable for delivering a first-class consulting experience for consumers of our Intelligent Workplace services. Using a consultative and co-design approach, you will work closely with customers to explore needs, share insights and shape solutions together. You will provide clear advice and guide decision making through best practice, and lead project delivery using modern methodologies that value inclusion, transparency and continuous feedback in a fast-paced environment.

Please note that due to customer requirements, this role requires New Zealand Citizenship or Permanent Residency. We do not offer visa sponsorship for this role.

What You’ll Do

Consultancy, help an organisation solve problems, make decisions, or achieve specific outcomes, by leading with co-design principles and providing advice, analysis, and recommendations
Preparing and delivering high-quality customer presentations, product demonstrations and workshops
Gather, translate, and analyse business requirements developing project documentation including solution designs documents, recommendation reports and systems as-built
Provide technical leadership for customers Microsoft 365 environments, information management and Power Apps and Power Automate solutions
Build and deploy solutions within Microsoft 365 platform, including SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, Power Automate and Power Apps
Lead and execute migration projects. Migrating information from legacy systems into SharePoint Online, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Power Automate and Power Apps
Advise customers on the effective, secure and responsible use of Microsoft 365 Copilot and AI, identifying opportunities to improve productivity and business outcomes.
Assess and improve customers' readiness for Microsoft 365 Copilot, including information architecture, content quality, permissions, information protection and governance.
Design, build, test and deploy custom agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio, connecting relevant business information, workflows and systems.
Facilitate Copilot workshops, demonstrations and training to build customer capability, support adoption and help users apply AI effectively in their day-to-day work.
Providing customers with advice on effective document control and records management practices to support compliance and maintain information integrity
Build customer capability through coaching, demonstrations and training. Develop training materials
Providing effort estimates for proposals and supporting presales activities
Follow best practice methodologies and adhere to recognised ITIL processes (EG: Change/release)
Provide governance and support to customers Microsoft 365 and Power Apps and Power Automate solutions

What you’ll bring:

Proven experience as a consultant in an ICT professional services environment
Extensive knowledge designing, building and deploying solutions using M365 Power Apps and Power Automate
Experience migrating content into Microsoft 365 from legacy platforms
Strong facilitation and presentation skills, including designing and leading customer workshops
Exceptional verbal, written (technical and business writing), and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly
Ability to translate complex business problems into business requirements and practical M365 based solutions
Experience designing and implementing enterprise information architectures
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience developing Power Automate workflows and Power Apps
Extensive knowledge of core M365 collaboration services, including SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams and OneDrive
Experience using Microsoft Purview for information management and information protection
Experience advising customers on Microsoft 365 Copilot, including identifying use cases, assessing readiness and supporting adoption.
Practical experience developing custom agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio, including configuring knowledge sources, instructions and actions.
Understanding of the information security and governance considerations associated with AI, including permissions, sensitive information, oversharing and the need to validate AI-generated outputs.
Experience developing PowerShell scripts to support automation and administration
A solid working knowledge and understanding of information management principles

Nice to have:

Experience developing custom solutions using SharePoint Framework (SPFx), JavaScript, C# and HTML/CSS
Experience building custom integrations between M365 and line of business systems
Experience with AvePoint tools such as Opus, Backup, Cloud Governance, Policies and Insights and Fly
Experience using ShareGate for migration and administration
Experience integrating Copilot Studio agents with Power Automate, connectors and line of business systems to automate business processes.
Experience applying Microsoft Purview capabilities to support information protection and governance for Microsoft 365 Copilot.
Experience evaluating and improving agent responses, , reliability and business value through structured testing and user feedback
