Job summary

SustainRecruit is seeking an experienced Solution Architect for a digital platforms programme in Sydney. The role leads end-to-end architecture for large-scale digital platforms and transformation initiatives, focusing on scalable, cloud-native solutions and robust integration across systems.

You will work with engineering teams to define architectures, patterns, APIs and microservices, ensuring security, reliability and maintainability while aligning with business goals.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Solution Architect with a strong software engineering background.
• Hands-on development experience with Java, Kotlin, .NET or similar backend technologies.
• Strong understanding of microservices, distributed systems, REST APIs and event-driven architecture.
• Experience designing cloud-native solutions, ideally within GCP, AWS or Azure.
• Exposure to Kubernetes, containerisation and modern CI/CD practices.
• Experience working across large-scale digital, eCommerce or customer-facing platforms.
• Strong communication skills with engineers and technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture across large-scale digital platforms and transformation initiatives.
• Design scalable, reliable solutions using modern software engineering principles and cloud technologies.
• Work closely with engineering teams to define technical architecture, integration patterns and solution designs.
• Contribute to the development of microservices, APIs and event-driven architectures.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance across engineering teams, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure and maintainable.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, product and delivery to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Support architectural decisions across greenfield development and existing platform modernisation.
