Job summary

The Department of Families, Fairness and Housing in Victoria seeks a Senior Solicitor, Renter Engagement and Relocation, to deliver timely legal advice for Homes Victoria's major projects, focusing on renter engagement and relocations.

You will work with the Secretary, Chief Executive Officer, housing development and commercial project teams, and housing portfolio Minister, providing clear, accurate advice and drafting property transaction agreements, ministerial correspondence, cabinet

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with experience in property and tenancy law.
• Experience advising senior government stakeholders.
• Strong drafting and briefing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, practical legal advice on complex matters.
• Prepare briefs, ministerial correspondence, cabinet submissions and other legal documents.
• Instruct counsel and contracted solicitors of the Victorian Government Legal Services Panel as needed.
