Job summary

Department for Education seeks a Senior Solicitor to support the Chief Legal Officer and the Assistant Director, Legal Services. You will deliver high-quality legal, policy and governance advice to senior executives and oversee a team of in-house solicitors, coordinating with the Crown Solicitor's Office as needed.

The role requires a Law degree, admission as a practitioner, an unrestricted practising certificate, and at least seven years of post-admission experience.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with 7+ years post admission experience.
• Experience providing strategic legal advice to senior executives.
• Demonstrated leadership of in-house legal teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist and support delivery of legal, policy and governance functions across the Department for Education.
• Provide high-quality, strategic policy and legal advice to Senior Executive.
• Lead and support a team of in-house solicitors and coordinate with Crown Solicitor's Office.
• Ensure efficient work practices within the Legal Services Directorate.
