Job summary

Telstra is seeking an experienced Salesforce Engineer for a 9-month fixed-term contract based in Australia. You will design, develop and maintain complex Salesforce applications and integrations, collaborating with product, UX/UI, QA and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions.

You’ll bring hands-on Salesforce development expertise, including Apex, SOQL and API integrations, and provide technical guidance to peers while helping set engineering standards and best practices across the

Qualifications

• Strong Salesforce development capability and practical problem solving.
• Experience with Apex, SOQL, APIs and security best practices.
• Knowledge of Salesforce DX and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to CPQ and Cloud products (Marketing/Service) is a plus.

• Build and maintain inbound and outbound integrations via REST and SOAP.
• Contribute across requirements, design, development, testing, deployment and maintenance.

The Opportunity

This is a 9-month fixed-term contract and can be based anywhere in Australia.

You'll bring strong hands-on Salesforce expertise while contributing to technical design, engineering standards and continuous improvement. You'll also have opportunities to share your knowledge and provide technical guidance to other developers.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop scalable, high-performing Salesforce applications using Apex and related technologies.
• Build and maintain inbound and outbound integrations using Salesforce APIs, REST, SOAP and integration patterns.
• Contribute across requirements, solution design, development, testing, deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Collaborate with product, UX/UI, QA and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in design reviews and improve development practices, standards and documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other developers.

About You

You're an experienced software engineer with strong Salesforce development capability and a practical approach to solving complex technical problems.

You’ll Ideally Bring

• Strong software development experience, including hands-on Salesforce application development.
• Strong knowledge of Salesforce architecture, Apex, SOQL, APIs, security and development best practices.
• Experience building Salesforce integrations using REST, SOAP and other integration patterns.
• Experience with Salesforce DX and CI/CD pipelines, with exposure to automated testing frameworks.
• Working knowledge of CPQ, with exposure to Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Service Cloud and/or Community Cloud highly regarded.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.
