Job summary

Shift is expanding its engineering team and seeks a Senior Backend Software Engineer who designs scalable, reliable systems. You’ll focus on backend architecture, performance, and maintainability while collaborating with product, engineering, and operations to deliver high‑quality solutions.

You’ll build scalable apps with C#, .NET, and React, help shape a microservices‑based platform, and uphold code quality, testing, and documentation.

Qualifications

• 6+ years building software with C# and .NET
• 3+ years working with React or similar front-end frameworks
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs and event-driven microservices
• Hands-on experience with Azure or comparable cloud platforms
• Familiarity with DevOps tooling like GitHub Actions, TeamCity, or Octopus
• Strong testing instincts and a commitment to reliable delivery
• Communicates well, contributes ideas openly and works cross-functionally
• Curiosity over credentials — we care more about how you think than where you've been

Responsibilities

• Contribute to architectural decisions and help shape a reliable microservices-based system
