Job summary

Rippling is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Global Payroll team to advance the full-service payroll platform used by hundreds of thousands of employees. You will own initiatives, create new functionality from scratch, and rearchitect key components to scale with the business.

You will collaborate with design and product management to shape strategy, deliver reliable software, and mentor peers while supporting on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Ability to own and deliver projects from specs to releases.
• Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals and modern design patterns.
• Proficiency in managing the complete project lifecycle to launches.
• Demonstrate keen product sense for excellent customer experiences.
• Outstanding ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly across teams.
• Experience with Python, Django and React is a plus.

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Global Payroll team, you will play a critical role in advancing our full-service payroll platform that handles payroll configuration and calculations for hundreds of thousands of employees. • Partner with design and product management leaders to shape and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the team, while maintaining a balanced approach that considers both platform and product perspectives
• Implement maintainable solutions with high quality and reliability that can scale as our business continues to grow and expand
• Provide mentorship to other engineers, fostering their professional growth and success
• Enforce high-quality deliverables and raise the bar for engineering excellence by building and operationalising tools, monitors, and processes across the organisation
• Participate in an on-call rotation to handle customer and production support

What you will need

• 6+ years of professional experience as a software engineer
• Ability to own and deliver projects, transforming product specifications into successful releases
• Strong grasp of computer science fundamentals, modern design patterns, providing you with a solid foundation to tackle complex technical problems and drive innovation.
• Proficiency in managing the complete project lifecycle, transforming intricate ideas into successful launches.
• Demonstrate a keen product sense that advocates for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
• Outstanding capacity to convey intricate technical concepts clearly and precisely, both in written and verbal communication, while collaborating effectively across diverse functional teams.
• Experience with Python, Django and React are a plus
