Job summary

Settify is rebuilding a consumer-facing AI-backed legal product from the ground up, with a frontend-first approach. You’ll help shape architecture, implement a fully customisable, content-driven intake and case preparation flow, and bring AI into the user experience.

This hybrid Sydney-based role emphasizes collaboration: work with leadership and legal experts, ship end-to-end features using TypeScript, and push the product from zero to users while balancing quality and velocity.

What you'll do

As a pivotal member of the team, you'll help shape the development of an AI-driven legal product that provides users with intelligent tools for managing their legal information. You'll be instrumental in rebuilding the entire application from the ground up, making it fully customisable and content-driven to streamline legal client intake and case preparation.

This will involve integrating advanced AI features to enhance the product's intelligence and user experience.

To make this happen you will:

• Help design and implement the product architecture.
• Collaborate with team members to re-build the application using TypeScript.
• Design and ship AI features - prompts, evals, tool-use, agent flows - that genuinely change what the product can do for users.
• Own meaningful slices of the product end-to-end - you'll make the calls, ship the work, and live with the results.
• Work closely with the leadership team and our team of legal experts.

What you'll bring

• 8+ years building and shipping full-stack web products in production - ideally including at least one you took from zero to users.
• A track record of accomplishments you're proud of - hard problems solved, products shipped.
• Strong data modelling instincts - you've designed schemas that survived contact with real users and changing requirements, not just queried existing ones.
• A CS or engineering degree, or the equivalent depth picked up by building things - we care about how you think, not where you learned it.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into a product - prompts, evals, tool use, or agent flows. You don't need to have trained a model, but you should know what works and what doesn't in production.

Even better if you have;

• Worked on a greenfield project or in an early-stage team, and know the difference between 'scrappy' and 'sloppy'.
• Exposure to legal tech, SaaS products, or early-stage tech teams.
• An interest in machine learning and building new AI models.
