Job summary

Domain is a leading property technology and services marketplace in Australia, part of CoStar Group. We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Keystone Squad within the Agent Workflows crew, delivering features across a React TypeScript frontend and Ruby on Rails backend for thousands of agents in Australia and New Zealand.

You’ll own design, write tests, monitor production, and raise the bar for engineering excellence.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering with senior-level production experience.
• Strong TypeScript and React, capable of frontend end-to-end ownership.
• Solid Rails backend or comparable framework with willingness to ramp up.
• Deep PostgreSQL experience: indexing, migrations, performance.
• Proven design-led thinking with design docs or ADRs.
• Track record of improving team quality via code reviews and mentoring.
• Comprehensive testing across unit, integration, and end-to-end.
• Experience with production observability tools.
• Strong written communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Rails internals and API design; ramp-up on Rails.
• Database: query optimisation, joins, indexing; migrations.
• Security: OWASP top 10, data protection, auth patterns.
• Testing: unit, integration, end-to-end with RSpec and Cypress.
• Observability: logging and APM (NewRelic).
• Frontend (primary): React with hooks, TS, performance optimisations.
• Infrastructure: AWS, CI/CD, Terraform basics, secrets management.
