Job summary

Airwallex is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for AI tooling in Information Security. You will lead development of internal AI tooling and maintain scalable infrastructure including Kubernetes clusters and ETL pipelines to protect systems and data.

You’ll mentor engineers, collaborate with product teams, and contribute to threat-hunting tooling and automation. Remote-friendly with Melbourne/Sydney office days, strong coding and problem-solving skills are essential for rapid impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
• At least five years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Production codebase experience.
• Experience with Python and at least one systems language (Go or C/C++).
• Experience with modern cloud infrastructure, data pipelines, serverless, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of AI tooling and applications for security operations.
• Build and maintain infra for internal tooling (Kubernetes, serverless, ETL pipelines).
• Support incident response with tooling for threat hunting and remediation.
• Collaborate with engineers and product teams to automate security outcomes and reduce risk.
