Job summary

Fortescue seeks a skilled software engineer to join the Operations AI platform in Perth. You will design, build and operate data-heavy software products that ingest large volumes of sensor data, provide APIs, and support interactive map-based front-ends.

Work in multidisciplinary squads to scale production AI across the business. You will collaborate with software engineers, data scientists and product teams, applying disciplined development practices and strong communication to deliver

Qualifications

• Five+ years of production software experience.
• Strong software engineering capability with C# and .NET.
• Experience owning software across full development lifecycle.
• Experience designing maintainable back-end, distributed or data-intensive systems.
• Strong understanding of architecture, integration and API design.
• Experience with cloud platforms, databases and automated deployment.
• Strong QA practices including automated testing and observability.
• Ability to deliver in complex, multidisciplinary environments.

Responsibilities

• Own software products across full lifecycle from discovery to production support.
• Design reusable services, APIs, data flows and apps for material tracking and AI use cases.
• Translate complex problems into clear technical designs.
• Build scalable, secure systems with testing and monitoring.
• Collaborate with product, operations, data science and engineering teams.
• Resolve performance and scalability issues and transition AI products to production.
• Provide technical leadership within squads and systems engineering teams.
• Mentor engineers and strengthen software standards and delivery practices.
