Job summary

Macquarie Bank Limited in Sydney is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead AI enablement efforts and deliver value in Banking and Financial Services. You will design and build backend systems powering AI-native solutions with end-to-end ownership in a modern DevOps culture.

You will work with data scientists to apply engineering expertise for scalable, production-grade code, CI/CD, and containerised deployments across cloud environments, embracing LLMOps best practices.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a software engineer in an agile DevOps environment using an object-oriented development language (python preferred).
• Experience across the full SDLC including design, build, test, and supporting mission-critical production platforms.
• Strong proficiency in writing production-grade code to build scalable backend solutions and automate complex workflows.
• Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and deployments in a containerised cloud environment.
• Exposure to modern agentic AI concepts and frameworks: RAG, MCP, GCP vertex AI, google ADK, LangChain, LangGraph, or LlamaIndex.
• Knowledge of "LLMOps" best practices for streamlining model experimentation, deployment, and monitoring in a live environment.
