Job summary

Origin Energy is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join on a six month contract. You will contribute to high‑performing teams delivering critical energy trading and risk systems, with AI features embedded into front‑end and back‑end platforms.

You’ll work with developers, testers, business analysts and a Delivery Manager to build reliable, scalable solutions, using Angular, C#/.NET, AWS or Azure, and SQL Server.

Qualifications

• Senior Software Engineer with production‑level Angular expertise.
• Proficiency in C# and .NET with API integration experience.
• Experience with AWS or Azure and SQL Server.
• Experience with LLM integration and AI‑assisted development tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop sophisticated front‑end solutions using Angular, creating intuitive interfaces for complex energy‑trading workflows.
• Apply strong engineering practices across solution design, development, testing, code quality and documentation.
• Participate in code reviews, pair programming and knowledge sharing across the engineering team.
• Integrate AI‑powered features, including LLM‑driven insights, intelligent automation and predictive visualisations, into front‑end experiences.
• Collaborate with engineers and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions.
