Job summary

Biza.io is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join a remote-first team delivering secure, scalable SaaS platforms across Australia. You will shape platform architecture, drive engineering standards and explore AI-assisted development to improve delivery velocity and quality.

You will work primarily on backend services using Spring Boot and TypeScript, with Frontend Next.js experience desirable, and collaborate with product managers and SREs to ensure reliable, scalable outcomes.

The Opportunity

We're looking for Senior Software Engineers who enjoys building great software, solving hard problems, and helping other engineers succeed.
You will play a key role in shaping our platform, influencing technical direction, and delivering secure, scalable solutions that customers rely on every day. You will also help us explore new ways of working, including large scale adoption of AI-assisted development and agentic engineering practices.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development and delivery of secure, scalable product features.
• Influence architecture, technical decisions and engineering standards across the platform.
• Improve engineering quality combining traditional testing and mentorship with AI enabled practices such as code reviews achieving continuous improvement across our product stack.
• Partner closely with software engineers, site reliability engineers and product managers to deliver reliable, resilient services aligned with the company vision.
• Solve complex technical challenges and act as a senior escalation point when needed.
• Use individual and swarm based AI capabilities to accelerate delivery while balancing quality, security and token efficiency.

What you will bring

• Experience building and operating complex software systems in a SaaS environment.
• Strong software engineering, coding and system design skills. This is a predominantly backend service development role using Spring Boot and Typescript (node) tech stacks. Frontend (NextJS) web development and OAuth experience is desirable.
• A track record of making sound technical decisions and delivering meaningful outcomes.
• Excellent collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering workflows including recursive loop agentic delivery capabilities.
• A strong sense of ownership and the ability to thrive in a remote-first environment.
