Job summary

Biza Pty Ltd is hiring Senior Software Engineers to help shape the platform that powers trusted data sharing across Australia. You will lead the design, development and delivery of secure, scalable product features while guiding other engineers.

In a remote-first team, you will influence architecture, adopt AI-assisted development practices, and collaborate with product managers and SREs to deliver reliable services aligned with the company's vision.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating complex software systems in a SaaS environment.
• Strong software engineering, coding and system design skills; backend service development with Spring Boot and TypeScript (Node).
• Frontend (Next.js) web development and OAuth experience desirable.
• Track record of sound technical decisions and delivering outcomes.
• Excellent collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and agentic delivery workflows.

The Opportunity

We're looking for Senior Software Engineers who enjoys building great software, solving hard problems, and helping other engineers succeed.

You will play a key role in shaping our platform, influencing technical direction, and delivering secure, scalable solutions that customers rely on every day. You will also help us explore new ways of working, including large scale adoption of AI-assisted development and agentic engineering practices.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development and delivery of secure, scalable product features.

• Influence architecture, technical decisions and engineering standards across the platform.

• Improve engineering quality combining traditional testing and mentorship with AI enabled practices such as code reviews achieving continuous improvement across our product stack.

• Partner closely with software engineers, site reliability engineers and product managers to deliver reliable, resilient services aligned with the company vision.

• Solve complex technical challenges and act as a senior escalation point when needed.

• Use individual and swarm based AI capabilities to accelerate delivery while balancing quality, security and token efficiency.

• You help lift the capability of the team through technical leadership, collaboration and mentorship.

• You use AI-enabled engineering practices to increase delivery velocity while maintaining a high bar for quality and incorporating team-wide knowledge.

What you will bring

• Experience building and operating complex software systems in a SaaS environment.

• Strong software engineering, coding and system design skills. This is a predominantly backend service development role using Spring Boot and Typescript (node) tech stacks. Frontend (NextJS) web development and OAuth experience is desirable.

• A track record of making sound technical decisions and delivering meaningful outcomes.

• Excellent collaboration, communication and problem-solving skills.

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools and modern engineering workflows including recursive loop agentic delivery capabilities.

• A strong sense of ownership and the ability to thrive in a remote-first environment.
