Job summary

UpGuard is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in Australia to own a feature area from design through production and follow-up. You will lead technical design for your area, collaborate with product and design, and mentor engineers to lift the squad's code quality and decisions.

Our stack includes React and TypeScript on the frontend, Go services with Postgres, and Kubernetes on GCP. You’ll work with AI coding tools and help build scalable cyber risk solutions for customers worldwide.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience at tech-centric, product-driven companies.
• Strong TypeScript and React.
• A backend language you're productive in (Go).
• Relational database skills (Postgres).
• AI coding tools as your default workflow and sound judgment when using them.

You'll be the engineer your product manager turns to for \"is this possible, and how big is it\", leading technical design for your area and seeing it through to production. You'll shape how your squad builds, mentor the engineers around you, and have real influence over what we ship for customers who depend on us to understand their cyber risk.You'll join one of our 11 (and growing) Product Engineering squads, most of which have a product manager, designer and technical lead alongside the engineers.Our stack is React and TypeScript on the front end, Go services with Postgres as our primary database, running on Kubernetes via Google Cloud Platform.Our engineers work with agentic coding tools, mostly Claude Code and Cursor, and a growing part of the product is LLM-backed.
