Job summary

NSW Health's SMART Social Work team at Westmead Hospital is seeking an experienced Social Worker Level 3 for a temporary part-time role (14 hours/week) up to 8 January 2027. You will deliver high-level psychosocial care, lead clinical practice and contribute to service improvement in rehabilitation across Western Sydney Local Health District.

You will provide senior clinical consultation on complex psychosocial and medico-legal matters, supervise staff and students, and participate in education,

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW).
• Selection criteria include understanding psychosocial issues in rehabilitation and high-level social work assessment.
• Experience in supervision of staff and students.
• Ability to develop and implement policies for service improvement and training.
• Excellent time management and communication skills; report writing and computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level clinical support to patients, families and carers across the Cancer and Chronic Care Team.
• Provide senior clinical consultation on complex psychosocial and medico-legal matters.
• Support learning through supervision, education, evidence-based practice and professional development.
• Contribute to quality improvement, program development, policies and clinical initiatives.
• Coordinate care with medical, nursing and allied health teams; manage risk and patient safety.
