Job summary

North West Hospital and Health Service in Mount Isa is seeking a Senior Social Worker to deliver high-level social work services across a varied clinical caseload. You will provide clinical leadership, supervise staff and students, and apply best-practice across trauma, end-of-life care, child protection and elder care.

You will undertake psychosocial assessments, prioritize care, and develop patient-centred intervention plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams while supporting

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary degree in Social Work with eligible AASW membership.
• Registration/licence required; blue card/working with children checks may be applicable.
• Driver licence class C is required.
• Pre-employment screening will be conducted.
• Vaccination or immunity may be required for certain duties.

Responsibilities

• Undertake comprehensive psychosocial assessments and high-risk screening.
• Provide clinical leadership and supervision to Social Work staff and students.
• Apply knowledge of legislation and policy across trauma, end-of-life care, child protection and elder care.
• Develop patient-focused intervention plans and managed risk across complex caseloads.
