Job summary

St George Hospital is seeking an experienced Level 3 Social Worker to join the Women’s and Children’s team on a permanent full-time basis. The role focuses on pregnancy journeys, safety and risk assessments, and supporting families through pregnancy, with MDT collaboration across obstetrics, neonatology and paediatrics.

The successful candidate will bring clinical expertise, leadership, and a commitment to compassionate, holistic care for vulnerable patients and their families.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate clinical experience in women’s health, obstetrics, neonatology or paediatrics.
• Ability to provide advanced psychosocial assessment and intervention for pregnant patients.
• Experience in complex discharge planning, safety and risk assessments, and grief/bereavement care during pregnancy.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced psychosocial assessment and intervention for pregnant patients and families.
• Support complex discharge planning and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated care and safety planning.
• Provide clinical supervision and mentoring to junior social work staff and students.
