Job summary

Queensland Government, Kallangur State School is seeking a part-time specialist to provide therapeutic and case management support for students with mild-to-moderate mental health concerns. You will assess needs, deliver individual and group interventions, and collaborate with school leaders to inform support planning.

The role involves coordinating referrals, engaging with external agencies, and advising teachers and families to improve student wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Assess the mental health needs of students to inform appropriate therapeutic interventions.
• Deliver individual and group interventions to students which address mental health concerns.
• Work collaboratively with schools' leadership and student support teams to inform student support planning, and provide advice to teachers supporting students' mental health in the classroom.
• Develop referral and case management processes to support delivery of the service.
• Coordinate referrals to external agencies, and work collaboratively with external networks and stakeholders to ensure access to appropriate supports for students.
• Provide advice and assistance to families to support the mental health of students.
• Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team.
