You will shape the roadmap, architect resilient systems, mentor engineers, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive performance. The role remains hands-on through design and code reviews, guiding best practices and emerging technologies.

Principal Site Reliability Engineer | Sydney

We’re partnering with a leading technology-driven financial services organisation to appoint a Principal Site Reliability Engineer into its core Reliability Engineering function.

This is not a traditional operations-focused SRE role. It is a senior engineering leadership position for someone who can combine deep software engineering and architecture expertise with a strong understanding of reliability, scalability and resilience.

You will:

• Shape the technical roadmap and engineering strategy
• Architect scalable, secure and highly resilient systems
• Remain technically involved through design, coding and code reviews

We’re looking for someone with:

• Strong software design and architecture capability

• Deep knowledge of reliability engineering and modern software development
• The ability to translate business requirements into practical, extensible solutions
• A track record of influencing and inspiring high-performing engineering teams
• Experience in financial services or another highly regulated environment would be advantageous
