Qualifications

• Minimum level of knowledge/skills/training required to carry out the job.
• Complete understanding of: Construction or civil materials and methods.
• Sound knowledge of: Management and planning skills.
• Exposure to contract administration.
• Fire Warden & Extinguisher Training.
• Elevated Work Platform High Risk Work Licence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure site WHS is maintained at all times
• Identify potential cost saving design solutions for review with the Project/Construction Manager
• Check designs and details on plans and resolve ambiguities with authorities
• Maintain records and communicate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and local authorities
• Chair and manage subcontractor meetings on site and distribute minutes
• Coordinate subcontractor planning to meet project objectives
• Procure materials per project procedures and authority limits
• Assess plant and labour resource requirements and advise the Project/Construction Manager
• Manage and verify site setout and survey with adequate control
• Develop processes for deficient areas as work progresses
• Provide leadership to site personnel and cover roles as needed
• Promote a collaborative project culture with high morale
• Communicate project performance, risks and opportunities regularly
• Resolve problems with the Project/Construction Manager as needed
• Manage industrial relations matters before escalation
• Supervise project staff and subcontractors
• Maintain site standards at all times
• Maintain access to the project site as required
• Promote the company’s image at all times
• Stay abreast of corporate, legislative and statutory requirements applicable to the role
• Identify and record risks to programme or scope and communicate with the Contract Administrator
• Assist in head contract claims preparation for variations, delays and other entitlements
• Review and understand key clauses of the head contract
• Assist in evaluating head contract claims for variations and delays
• Maintain awareness of commercial claims and protect entitlement
• Communicate with Clients regarding delay events
• Maintain awareness of subcontracts management throughout construction and finalisation
