Job summary

Plantation Pine Products, owned by Borg, seeks a Silviculture Manager to oversee NSW silviculture operations from the Oberon base. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will plan and supervise planting, thinning and care, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and regulatory requirements.

The role requires managing contractors, coordinating site plans, and maintaining records, with a focus on safety, productivity and sustainable practices in radiata pine plantations.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in forestry or related natural resource field.
• Experience managing plantation silviculture programs including contractors and crews.
• Strong technical knowledge of plantation forestry in Australian context.
• Competence in spatial work planning and planning systems.
• Ability to develop annual silviculture programs and monitor expenditure.
• Knowledge of forestry safety and environmental protection in NSW.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise day-to-day silviculture operations across NSW.
• Ensure activities are safe, efficient and compliant with regulations and work programs.
• Monitor contractor performance against productivity, quality, safety, budgets and schedules.
• Coordinate spatial work planning, site access, boundaries, seasonal timing and environmental values.
• Maintain records of treatments, costs and forecasts for reporting.
• Inspect completed work, verify quality and build relationships with contractors and regulators.
