Job summary

Talenza in Melbourne is seeking a Security Architect to lead an in-house security team, focusing on SIEM transformation, advanced monitoring, and acting as the technical authority on cyber security across the organisation.

Reporting to the CISO, you will own architecture from strategy to the tools used daily, engage with executives and stakeholders, and drive security controls, incidents, and training to uplift cyber safety.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading or delivering SIEM implementations.
• Strong background in security architecture and engineering best practices.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication; credibility with technical and business audiences.
• Ability to operate independently, manage competing priorities, and bring clarity to high-pressure situations.

Responsibilities

• Leading the evaluation, selection and implementation of a new SIEM platform as we move away from the current solution.
• Strengthening security monitoring and detection capabilities across the organisation.
• Architecting, planning and overseeing the implementation and continuous improvement of security measures protecting data, systems and networks.
• Setting security strategy and establishing best practices, standards and policies aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Acting as escalation point and senior technical authority for the security engineering team; leading response to complex incidents.
• Building credibility with technical and business stakeholders, including executive level, to drive security outcomes.
• Reviewing audit findings and ensuring timely remediation.
• Conducting and overseeing security assessments of in-house and third-party applications.
• Designing and delivering security awareness training to uplift cyber safety capability.
