Job summary

CSE Crosscom in Australia seeks a Senior Service Technician to support and maintain mission-critical radio and telecom systems across diverse industries. This role is field-based, hands-on with DMR, TETRA, P25, CCTV, and IP networks.

You will troubleshoot issues, plan upgrades, and contribute to safe, reliable service delivery while mentoring apprentices and junior technicians. A Certificate III or higher in Electronics or RF is required, with ACMA compliance.

Qualifications

• Certificate III or higher in Electronics, RF Engineering or similar.
• Hands-on experience with radio spectrum and networked systems (P25, TETRA, DMR).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Knowledge of ACMA regulations and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deliver end-to-end servicing of two-way radio systems (analogue/DMR/TETRA/P25).
• Install, test and commission radio networks, IP systems, CCTV, PAGA, telephony & infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment across field and workshop environments.
• Configure and program radio equipment and update firmware.
• Conduct site assessments and prepare implementation plans with reports.
• Maintain service records and ensure tools and vehicles are field-ready.
• Mentor apprentices and junior team members; contribute to safety & training.
• Support continuous improvement and toolbox talks.

As a Senior Service Technician at CSE Crosscom, you'll play a vital role in supporting and maintaining mission-critical communications systems across a wide range of industries — including mining, emergency services, transport, utilities, and more. You'll be out in the field, working hands-on with cutting-edge radio technologies like DMR, TETRA, P25, and a variety of IP-based networks, as well as CCTV, telephony, and PAGA systems.

You’ll troubleshoot and resolve issues, plan and implement system upgrades, and contribute to the seamless delivery of technical services our clients rely on as well as:

• Deliver end-to-end servicing of two-way radio systems, including analogue, DMR, TETRA, and P25 networks
• Install, test and commission radio networks, IP systems, CCTV, PAGA, telephony, and associated infrastructure
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment faults across diverse environments – both in the field and in-house
• Configure and program radio equipment, including maintenance of code plugs and firmware updates
• Conduct site assessments and surveys, prepare implementation plans, and produce detailed reports
• Maintain detailed service records, compliance documentation, and ensure workshop tools and vehicles are field-ready
• Mentor apprentices and junior team members, helping develop a capable, agile and responsive workforce
• Contribute to continuous improvement, toolbox meetings, safety procedures, and internal training programs

About you:

• Certificate III or higher in Electronics, RF Engineering or similar
• Hands-on experience with radio spectrum, P25, TETRA, DMR, and networked systems
• Confidence working at heights, with EWP or tower climbing (current high-risk licence required)
• Experience with telephony, CCTV, UPS, access control, PA systems, and more
• Strong troubleshooting skills & calm under pressure
• Knowledge of ACMA regulations
