The Missing Link is seeking a Senior Security Operations Engineer to support a major Australian financial services client on a 6-month engagement. This hands-on role emphasizes a SOC/Splunk background with strong security engineering capabilities and experience across monitoring, detection and response.

You will contribute to DSPM and CSPM initiatives, drive vulnerability remediation processes, and ensure security controls integrate with existing SOC workflows in a hybrid Melbourne-based

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Security Operations Engineer to support a major Australian financial services organisation on an initial 6 month engagement.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, project-focused security role requiring a strong SOC background, particularly Splunk detection engineering, combined with broader security engineering capability.

You will bring an operational security lens to several key security initiatives and help ensure solutions integrate effectively with existing monitoring, detection and response processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Splunk detection engineering and security monitoring
• Support Data Security Posture Management (DSPM) initiatives
• Support Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) initiatives
• Develop and improve vulnerability management and remediation processes
• Develop and refine vulnerability remediation escalation processes
• Ensure security initiatives are operationally practical
• Support effective integration with SOC monitoring, detection and response processes

About You

You will be an experienced security professional who can combine strong technical capability with sound operational judgement and clear communication.
