Job summary

Amazon Leo Security is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to own the vulnerability management program across Leo systems and drive remediation for high-severity findings. You will partner with builder teams as a trusted advisor, turning compliance into auditable controls and guiding the security posture of the fleet.

You will mentor engineers, simplify security practices, and define metrics to demonstrate progress while ensuring security remains scalable as the satellite internet service scales.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of non-internship background in troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating complex tasks using command line tools experience
• 5+ years of work in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans experience
• Experience (non-internship) in scripting, programming, and security code reviewing in a common programming language
• Experience (non-internship) in industry-based security vulnerabilities identification, attack patterns, and remediation techniques
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Responsibilities

• Own the vulnerability management program for Leo systems across a large fleet.
• Coordinate across teams to close gaps and drive remediation of high-severity findings.
• Mentor builders to become security advocates and engineers.
• Translate compliance requirements into auditable engineering controls and evidence.
• Define metrics and report them to leaders to show program effectiveness.
• Drive security simplification so security is a default, not a burden.
