Job summary

Goodman Fielder in Sydney seeks a Senior Security Engineer to own cybersecurity across ANZ, working hands-on and strategically as the security SME with our global Cyber Security team in Singapore. You will lead security across ANZ, influencing decisions with IT and business leaders while strengthening the security environment.

The role requires 5-6+ years in security engineering/architecture, strong cloud security and DevSecOps capabilities, and a proactive, autonomous working style in a hybrid

Qualifications

• 5-6+ years of cybersecurity experience in security engineering, architecture or advisory roles.
• Hands-on engineering and architectural thinking across cloud security, DevSecOps, incident response, risk management and security architecture.
• Strong knowledge of IAM, PAM, EPP, SIEM/SOAR, NGFW, SASE or CNAPP.
• Experience with NIST CSF and ISO 27001/27002; awareness of AU/NZ privacy requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; able to influence business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage ANZ cyber risk register; advise on security risks and priorities.
• Provide security architecture guidance across cloud, networks, apps, and infrastructure.
• Deliver hands-on support for security incidents, vulnerabilities and remediation.
• Partner with global and local stakeholders to implement security standards and controls.
• Assess third-party security risks; support audits, pen tests and vulnerability assessments.
• Identify opportunities to improve security capabilities, automation, and processes.
• Translate cybersecurity risks into clear, practical business recommendations.

Job description

We are seeking a talented Senior Security Engineer to join our IT team in Macquarie Park, Sydney and take ownership of cybersecurity across Australia and New Zealand.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys being both hands-on and strategic — working across technical security engineering while also thinking like an architect. You'll be the key cybersecurity SME for ANZ, partnering with our global Cyber Security team in Singapore to align local security priorities with our broader Group strategy.

As the only dedicated security specialist across ANZ, you'll have genuine ownership and visibility across the business. You'll work with IT, business leaders, site teams and global stakeholders to identify risks, influence decisions and strengthen our security environment.

What you'll do

• Own and manage the ANZ cyber risk register, providing advice on security risks, priorities and business decisions.
• Provide security architecture guidance across cloud, DevSecOps, networks, applications and infrastructure.
• Deliver hands-on support across security incidents, vulnerabilities, security technologies and remediation activities.
• Partner with global Cyber Security, ANZ IT and business stakeholders to implement security standards, controls and initiatives.
• Assess third-party security risks and support audits, penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
• Identify opportunities to improve security capability, automation, processes and technology across ANZ.
• Translate complex cybersecurity risks into clear, practical recommendations that influence business and technology decisions.

What you'll bring

• 5-6+ years' cybersecurity experience, ideally across security engineering, architecture or advisory environments.
• A strong blend of hands-on engineering capability and architectural thinking — comfortable operating at both the technical and strategic level.
• Experience across cloud security, DevSecOps, incident response, risk management and security architecture.
• Strong knowledge of security technologies such as IAM, PAM, EPP, SIEM/SOAR, NGFW, SASE or CNAPP.
• Experience working with security frameworks including NIST CSF and ISO 27001/27002, with an understanding of Australian and New Zealand privacy requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships, influence decisions and communicate security risks in business language.
• Ability to work autonomously, take ownership and operate effectively across ANZ and global teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a related discipline. CISSP, CISM, CCSP or SSCP certification is desirable but not essential.
