Job summary

Somerset College on the Gold Coast is seeking a dedicated Teacher – Senior School to deliver Mathematics and Science across Years 8–12, including Mathematical Methods, in a vibrant, well-resourced faculty.

The successful candidate will hold qualifications in Mathematics or Science and Education, be registered with the Queensland College of Teachers, and demonstrate IB MYP experience, strong pedagogy and a commitment to academic excellence and student wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience teaching secondary Mathematics, including Mathematical Methods.
• Ability to teach Mathematics across Years 8–12 and Science Years 8–9.
• Strong disciplinary and pedagogical knowledge in Mathematics and Science education.
• Qualifications in Mathematics or Science, Education or related discipline.
• IB Middle Years Programme experience is highly regarded.
• Commitment to student engagement, achievement and growth.
• Professionalism, reliability and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging and effective Mathematics programs across Years 8–12.
• Teach Mathematical Methods and Junior Science where appropriate.
• Differentiate learning to meet diverse student needs.
• Develop and implement curriculum, assessment and reporting.
• Build positive relationships with students, families and colleagues.
• Contribute to co-curricular and pastoral care initiatives.
• Engage in professional learning and continuous improvement.
