Job summary

The King’s School is seeking an experienced and intuitive School Counsellor to work in our Senior School, supporting Boarding and Day students with professional counselling and mental health care. This is a permanent part-time role, 3 days per week, commencing Term 1 2027 at The King’s Senior School in North Parramatta.

Working days will include Mondays, with flexibility for the remaining days. Applicants should have professional qualifications in Psychology or Social Work and be eligible for

Qualifications

• Professional qualifications in Psychology or Social Work eligible for membership with AAPi, APS, or AASW
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Understanding of the wellbeing needs of senior school students in relation to learning, social, emotional and personal growth outcomes
• Ability to coordinate and provide counselling and wellbeing advice with a whole-school approach
• Experience as a Counsellor with senior school-aged children preferred
• Capacity to use ICT for maintaining digital records, data harvesting and communication

Responsibilities

• Provide professional counselling and mental health care to Senior School students
• Support Boarding and Day students and associated staff in wellbeing matters
• Coordinate and deliver a whole-school wellbeing approach
• Undertake case management including liaison with families, Housemasters, Year Co-ordinators and Executive staff
• Maintain digital records and contribute to data collection and reporting
