  • True hybrid working - work from home and our Mitcham office
  • $165,568 TRP inclusive of 12% superannuation

The Role As a Senior Scheduler in the Portfolio Management Office, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the success of Yarra Valley Waters Asset Portfolio. You'll be the go-to expert for building, maintaining, and refining project, program, and portfolio level schedules that keep our delivery teams on track and performing at their best. Your scheduling expertise will support teams across the Asset Services group, providing the critical insights needed to manage risk, inform smart decision-making, and drive results.

Beyond the technical side, this role offers the opportunity to lead by example - coaching and mentoring team members as they grow their capabilities, and helping build a high-performing, collaborative team environment.

About us We're on a mission to create a brighter future, where you can be a change maker at the actual source. We're one of Australia's largest water utilities with over 30% of Victoria's population relying on us for their essential water and sanitation services.

Our award-winning culture fosters an inclusive, collaborative, and flexible environment that enables our people to thrive. Here, you'll be inspired and challenged to grow alongside us.

We're committed to reconciliation and supporting the self-determined role for Traditional Owners/Custodians in water and land management.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain and update detailed project and program schedules across the Asset Portfolio, ensuring alignment with baselines, timelines, and funding allocations.
  • Consolidate project schedules into program and portfolio views to identify critical paths, dependencies, and resource constraints. Produce schedule-driven insights, including milestone tracking, slippage analysis, forecast vs. actuals, and earned value reporting.
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Program Managers, and Team Leaders to validate plans, capture inputs, and ensure data accuracy. Facilitate schedule reviews and workshops to drive transparency and alignment.
  • Administer and optimise scheduling tools ensuring consistent application of PMO standards. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of scheduling tools, templates, dashboards, and practices.
  • Highlight scheduling risks, issues, and opportunities to support proactive decision-making. Assist with scheduling for Pricing Submissions and other key planning activities.
  • Mentor team members and support project teams with scheduling tools, techniques, and best practices. Champion knowledge sharing and help uplift scheduling maturity across the organisation.

What we're looking for

  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Project and Excel; strong Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Proven experience in project/program scheduling within complex, multi-disciplinary environments
  • Skilled in managing integrated schedules, tracking critical paths, and analysing variances
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and data integrity
  • PMO experience
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and interpersonal skills
  • Leadership capability, including coaching, feedback, and navigating difficult conversations
  • Ability to prioritise, multitask, and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic environment
  • Flexible and adaptable, with experience leading through change and transformation

Why Yarra Valley Water? We celebrate and encourage new thinking at every level. Creating opportunities for you to grow - both professionally, and personally. When you flourish, we all do.

  • $165,568 TRP inclusive of 12% superannuation
  • Flexible working arrangements where our people are empowered to design their days with their team.
  • Free and secure on-site parking with on-site café at our Mitcham office
  • 14 weeks paid leave parental leave
  • 15 days paid personal leave, which can be used for caring, wellbeing, mental health, menstrual or menopause
  • Request to swap certain public holidays for another day of paid leave
