Job summary

Evoenergy seeks a Principal Automation System Engineer to lead SCADA and substation automation solutions for its ACT network. You will guide design, commissioning, operation and maintenance, driving safe, reliable systems and regulatory readiness.

You will provide technical leadership across projects, manage interdependencies, and strengthen governance while improving automation strategies and safety culture across the team.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in SCADA and substation automation systems
• Strong knowledge of SCADA communications and related protocols (IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus)
• Demonstrated capability in project management and electrical network protection systems
• A safety-minded leader who fosters a safe, inclusive environment

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing SCADA and Automation team, fostering safety and continuous improvement
• Define and deliver the SCADA and Automation program of work, safely and on schedule
• Develop, implement and maintain SCADA strategies and architectures per standards and procedures
• Oversee design, commissioning, operation, maintenance, and performance of SCADA and IEC 61850 substations
• Ensure system reliability, cyber security, compliance, and stakeholder engagement while providing expert leadership
