Job summary

Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Canberra seeks a Senior Salesforce Developer to support enterprise Salesforce applications. You will design, configure and deliver solutions using out-of-the-box features, Apex, LWCs, Omnistudio and related technologies.

This EL1/Senior role requires active NV1 security clearance and Australian citizenship. Location is Canberra on-site with strong preference for five days onsite; eligible interstate must attend Canberra office for two days monthly.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in performing Salesforce development.
• Strong experience designing and delivering enterprise level Salesforce solutions with best practices.
• Proven ability to configure Salesforce (Objects, Flows, Permissions, sharing).
• Expertise in Apex, LWCs, Omnistudio, Aura, JavaScript, HTML/CSS.
• Public Sector Solutions and Experience Cloud.
• Experience with version control and advanced CI/CD tooling.

Job Details

The Commercial Application Delivery Section within the Business Solutions Branch of DFAT's Information Management and Technology Division is seeking highly motivated and experienced Salesforce Developers to support projects developing Salesforce applications.

As a Salesforce Developer, you will implement and deliver solutions that meet clients’ business requirements within a project delivery team. You will collaborate with the Solution Lead to prepare designs and use out-of-the-box features and configuration to maximise value, sustainability and best practice when customising with code.

You will work closely with business analysts and testers to ensure releases meet business requirements, acceptance criteria and quality assurance standards. You will also work with the release manager to deliver releases through the DevOps pipeline and meet quality standards at each step.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in the planning/analysis of business requirements for system changes and enhancements.
• Remain current with Salesforce technologies and best practices.
• Translate application designs into functional configurations and code, in line with development and configuration standards.
• Support quality assurance and release management operations to ensure artefacts can be properly tested and deployed.
• Produce design, solution and technical documentation as required by the project.

Selection Criteria

Essential Criteria

• Minimum 3+ years in performing Salesforce development.
• Have specialist ICT skills in the following:
  o Demonstrated experience to design, build and deliver enterprise level integrated solutions and follow Salesforce best practices
  o Demonstrated experience in configuring Salesforce. Ability to build/ modify custom Objects, Flows, Permission sets, sharing and other related configuration and settings.
  o Advanced demonstrated experience in Apex, Lightning Web Components, Omnistudio, Aura, JavaScript, CSS and HTML.
  o Public Sector Solutions and Experience cloud.
  o Experience in using version control and advanced CI/ CD tooling.
• Certified Salesforce Platform Developer I and Omni Studio Developer/ Consultant.
• Minimum current/active NV1 security clearance.

Desirable Criteria

• Certified Salesforce Platform Developer II or any Salesforce Architect Certification like Data Designer/ Sharing and Visibility Designer.
• Certified Salesforce Public Sector Solutions (PSS) or Salesforce Data Cloud Consultant.
