Job summary

Cockroach Labs is seeking a Sales Engineer to grow a fast-moving team in Australia. You will qualify opportunities, present technical solutions, and support evaluations with customers and partners.

The role is hybrid, centered in the Central territory, with travel as needed and collaboration across product, engineering, and support teams. Expect to lead POCs, run live demos, and address blockers with a strong understanding of modern infrastructure and distributed databases.

Qualifications

• 10-12+ years of experience collecting requirements, developing solution architectures, and leading presentations for software projects.
• Experience building scalable, distributed software or infrastructure and staying close to code.
• Strong understanding of modern infrastructure and database technologies.
• Proven ability to build relationships with partners, customers and open-source users.
• Collaborative mindset with focus on customer feedback to improve CockroachDB.
• Willingness to travel to meet customers and attend events.

Responsibilities

• Qualify and close opportunities with customers and partners, providing technical expertise via presentations and demos.
• Lead product and solution briefings, build POC, run live demos, and prototype integrations.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and support to resolve customer challenges and improve CockroachDB.
• Identify technical objections and craft strategies to overcome blockers to adoption.
