MongoDB is seeking an experienced Pre‑Sales technologist in Australia’s New South Wales region to align technical design with customer needs and drive scalable data platform solutions.

You will guide customers and partners, win deals with field leaders, and serve as a trusted advisor across startups to large enterprises. Expect travel up to 25% and close collaboration with sales and product teams.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of related industry experience, ideally 2 years partner-facing.
• Minimum of 2 years with modern scripting languages (Python, Node.js, SQL) or popular programming languages (C/C++, Java, C#).
• Experience implementing scalable and highly available distributed systems in the cloud and on-prem.
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25%.
• Ability to collaborate with a cross-functional sales team to execute an end-to-end deal cycle.

Responsibilities

• Guide customers and partners to design and build reliable, scalable systems using our data platform.
• Work closely with field partner leaders to win deals and drive the business forward.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to a wide range of users from startups to the world's largest enterprise IT organizations.
• Collaborate with advisory consulting partners on reference architectures, patterns, and AI blueprints.
• Articulate the business value of MongoDB solutions and bridge this to technical value.
• Partner with account teams to ensure success across accounts.
• Support sales with technical discovery, demos, proofs of value, presentations, sizing, and documentation of technical decision criteria.
• Translate technical concepts into business benefits for management and executives.
• Act as a liaison, gathering feedback from the field and relaying it to Product Management.
• Help drive demand through participation in trade‑shows and account‑based marketing events.
• Demonstrate resilience and sound judgment in business challenges.
• Support and mentor other pre‑sales team members.
• Maintain situational awareness in group settings.
