Job summary

Fulton Hogan Ltd in Eight Mile Plains, Queensland, seeks an experienced Senior Safety Advisor to strengthen our Living Safely culture across South‑East Queensland civil projects. You will provide practical safety advice, lead site inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations to ensure WHS compliance.

You'll build strong relationships with project teams, support tender reviews from a safety perspective, and contribute to risk management across roadworks, earthworks and utilities as

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of civil construction environments and associated risks.
• Experience supporting civil construction projects.
• Experience across civil infrastructure, roadworks, earthworks, drainage and utilities.
• Proficiency with WHS requirements, risk management, SWMS, site assurance and incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Providing practical safety advice and support across multiple civil projects.
• Maintaining a visible site presence and building relationships with project teams and crews.
• Conducting site inspections, workplace risk assessments, and safety assurance activities.
• Participating in safety audits, inspections and safety stats reporting.
• Participating in tender reviews from a safety perspective.
• Conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Supporting project mobilisation and the development and review of safety documentation.
• Advising on key construction risks including mobile plant, excavations, services, traffic management and other high-risk activities.

Based in Eight Mile Plains, you will be responsible for ensuring an effective safety culture, by aligning our “Living Safely” ethos, and driving compliance with WHS legislation. Some of the responsibilities include:Providing practical safety advice and support across multiple civil projects.Maintaining a visible site presence and building strong relationships with project teams and crews.Conducting site inspections, workplace risk assessments, and safety assurance activities.Participating in safety audits, inspections and safety stats reporting.Participating in tender reviews from a safety perspective.Conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis.Supporting project mobilisation and the development and review of safety documentation.Providing advice on key construction risks including mobile plant, excavations, services, traffic management and other high-risk construction activities.How you’ll connect to the role?We are looking for an experienced Senior Safety Advisor with a strong understanding of civil construction environments and the risks associated with delivering civil works. Previous experience supporting civil construction projects is highly desirable and will be a key advantage in this role. You will ideally have experience working across civil infrastructure, roadworks, earthworks, drainage, utilities or similar construction activities, with a practical understanding of the day-to-day risks associated with mobile plant, excavations, services, traffic interfaces and subcontractor activities.Your relevant qualification in Health and Safety, proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, practical knowledge of WHS requirements and experience supporting project teams with risk management, SWMS, site assurance and incident investigations will set you up for success.
