Job summary

The role requires a Master's degree and at least 6 years of rural development consulting experience, with extensive travel across the Eastern Cape. Hybrid work model supported.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Development Studies, Public Administration, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in rural development, community planning, or related consulting.
• Proven experience in designing and managing development projects in rural settings.
• Strong understanding of socio-economic issues facing rural communities in South Africa.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to travel extensively and work effectively in diverse community contexts within the Eastern Cape.

Responsibilities

• Conduct needs assessments and feasibility studies for rural development projects.
• Develop strategic plans for economic diversification, infrastructure development, and service delivery in rural areas.
• Advise local government and community leaders on policy implementation and best practices.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement and build consensus among diverse groups.
• Monitor project progress, evaluate outcomes, and report on impact.
• Identify funding opportunities and support grant applications for rural initiatives.
