Job summary

d-Matrix Australia Pty Ltd in North Ryde NSW is seeking a Senior Staff Runtime Engineer to architect, develop and validate firmware and software for the system-on-chip runtimes.

You will collaborate with hardware and software teams across AU and US, port software to FPGA platforms, and drive delivery schedules while ensuring adherence to d-Matrix coding guidelines and performance targets.

Experience in multi-core RTOS, JTAG debugging and SystemC models is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master of Science in computer science, computer engineering, or similar.
• Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in embedded software development.
• Experience with multi-threaded C on multi-core CPUs running an RTOS in AMP and SMP configurations.
• Understanding of methods to synchronize many-core and many-CPU architectures.
• Managing static resources without an MMU.
• Zephyr OS experience is an advantage.
• Experience with PIC programming and developing interrupt service routines.
• Knowledge of bootloaders and Linux device drivers is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret HW-centric data sheets and register definitions to program the architecture.
• Ability to work with HW design teams and SW teams across regions.
• Experience with FPGA-based development and system emulators is an advantage.
• Ability to provide feedback on SW architecture.

Responsibilities

• Develop and debug firmware/software on the SOC's multi-core CPUs and drivers.
• Architect and implement runtime firmware for AI subsystem control and performance.
• Port software to FPGA platforms and debug with JTAG IDE.
• Coordinate with hardware teams to optimize utilisation, throughput and power.
• Contribute to DV simulations and emulation with HW verification teams.
• Bring up software on AI subsystem hardware and validate silicon performance.
