Job summary

Australian Department of Defence – Sydney CBD NSW is seeking a Senior Risk Assessor within Defence Export Controls to rigorously assess risks for export applications of military and dual-use goods and for Foreign Work Authorisations.

You will analyse information from multiple sources to ensure decisions uphold Australia’s security and international obligations, and you will engage with Defence, industry and external stakeholders to support assessments and record-keeping.

• Demonstrates strong analytical and assessment skills, can navigate complex and sensitive issues, and remain effective in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assess risk for export of military and dual-use goods and technologies and for Foreign Work Authorisations.

• Engage with Defence, industry and external stakeholders to support assessments and maintain records as required.
• Contribute to improvements in policies and procedures to support quality and timeliness.
