Job summary

State of Victoria's Department of Justice and Community Safety is seeking a Senior Advisor, Risk to lead the development and application of the risk management framework across the department, delivering high-quality risk advice and supporting risk policies.

You will coordinate across business areas, design workshops, review policies, and prepare briefings to inform senior and Ministerial decisions. This is an ongoing, full-time role in Victoria with a salary range disclosed.

Qualifications

• Strong operational risk experience identifying, assessing and reducing risks in complex settings.
• Experience applying risk frameworks and standards in practical, real-world contexts.
• Good judgement interpreting risk policies and adapting them to work settings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate risk work across business areas to reduce operational exposure.
• Support the risk program, including risk registers, systems, policies, tools and training.
• Design workshops and projects that lift risk skills.
• Review risk policies and improve frameworks, processes and guidance.
• Prepare clear advice and briefings to support senior and Ministerial decisions.
